Having
spent the best part of a year travelling between England and Spain
in search of a place where we felt comfortable enough to put down
roots, we were becoming a little cynical about property agents and
developers and their tactics. We had traveled a fair distance in Spain
and invested a lot of valuable time during our search from north of
Alicante all the way down to San Javier and the Costa Calida.
After each trip
we were a little more disappointed that our criteria for a new place
to call home were not met. We were, nonetheless, convinced that Spain
is the place for us and that our dream location must exist there somewhere.
In seeking out
that little unspoiled Spanish haven that we yearned for, we cast our
net further inland and were fortunate to come across Spanish Residence
who introduced us to the delights of Calasparra and the north Murcia
region
“We’ll meet
you!”
“We’ll guide
you!”
“We’ll find
you a place to stay!”
We’ll find you
wonderful properties to view!”
“We won’t put
you under any pressure to buy!”
“We just want
you to come and visit Calasparra because we know you’ll fall in love
with it!”
Does all of
that sound familiar? It did to us! We had heard it all before. But,
what do you know? Spanish Residence was exactly right! In all respects!
We arrived at
Alicante airport in the “wee small hours” of Sunday morning after
a delay of about three hours in our flight from Bristol. We were met
by Kevin and Jason from Spanish Residence who, despite the late hour,
were remarkably friendly, helpful and full of life. They guided us
to a “country house” on the edge of Calasparra that they had arranged
for us to rent and made sure we were settled in for what remained
of the night. We arranged to call them the following day and arrange
to meet up again.
When we arose
in the morning and looked out upon our view, we were suddenly less
tired. Breakfast on the porch surrounded by olive trees, looking out
over a beautiful valley, with a backdrop of gentle hills, we instantly
felt that we had fallen upon the sort of Spain we were so keenly looking
for.
Although Calasparra
is very Spanish and you rarely hear a word of English spoken, the
atmosphere is so warm and welcoming that you feel right at home and
amongst friends. After a couple of visits there, we felt as though
we knew half of the population of the town. Everyone spoke. Everyone
smiled. No one was in any hurry to get any-where. A perfectly relaxing
ambience. And, of course, the weather was wonderful.
Next day Spanish
Residence showed us around some re-sale properties we had asked to
visit and introduced us to the site of the new urbanisation of Coto
Rinales that we had been intrigued by. We were provided with all of
the details we needed and plenty of good advice. It was all a great
experience. And, as promised, there was no hard sell. In fact, the
only pressure we faced was fitting in all of the invitations we received
to dine out and meet people.
When it came
time to go home we were very sad to have to leave but determined that
we would return just as soon as we could to renew our friendship with
Calasparra and the Spanish Residence “family”. We have put our
mark on a plot at Coto Rinales and are already counting the days to
when we can be there permanently to enjoy a great new life. We will
certainly return very soon to catch up with Kevin and Jason and their
family and friends in Calasparra. Once you have had the experience
there is no way you can fail to want to go right back.
We
have nothing but praise for Spanish Residence. They treated us royally
as though it was a matter of course and they kept all of their promises.
And the area around the town of Calasparra is everything that we have
been searching for.
Highly
recommended !!

Chris
and I would like to thank you and all at Spanish Residence for the
help and kindness shown to us when we were searching for our dream
'place in the sun' It was a real pleasure dealing with you.
There was no pressure whatsoever and you all went to a great deal
of trouble to show us the surrounding countryside places of interest
and local facilities before there was any mention of property
for sale.
- You kindly
spent the whole day showing us property and we could have left with
no pressure to make any sort of decision. We did make the decision
to buy and the sale itself went very smoothly with all the help
we could ask for. You even ferried us the our solicitors office.
Our special thanks to Pam at the B & B - we are looking forward
to living in beautiful Calasparra.

"We
had a terrible few days with other companies, but our faith has
been restored as the Spanish Residence guy was an absolute sweetie.
He showed us several properties, which were all within our price
range and matched our criteria"

- "Our
experience was far less painful than I first believed. Yeah sure,
we had to do some ground work, but these people worked tirelessly
to help us find our ideal holiday home
- We are
now in the process of moving permanently to Spain - and we will be
recommending all our friends to contact these people as well"
- Mrs

-
"I
am looking for a townhouse and contacted Spanish Residence who made
a special effort to find the type of property I wanted. All I can
say is thanks Spanish Residence - top job!"
-
Mrs
Karen Hart - Brentwood
- "We
are in the process of moving permanently to the Costa Calida - Spanish
Residence are the friendliest people I have dealt with"
- Mr
R Cheron - Collier Row
We would
like to thank all at Spanish Residence for helping us through the
minefield of buying a house in Spain, or should l say our dream
home in Spain. Nothing was a problem with them, their patience and
understanding of our needs was second nature, they are with you from
viewing to completion, and having had some unpleasant dealings with
other property dealers in Spain it was like a breath of fresh air
to deal with them.
I must
also add, there was no pressure selling in any way, on the contrary
we felt more like one of the family.
We
would recommend Spanish Residence to anybody who wants to purchase a
hassle free Spanish Residence.

Buenos
Dias Jason, Kevin and All,
- We had
a really pleasant stay with you and just as you promised, there was
no hard or pressured selling, just a friendly one to one basis, the
tour of the area was very helpful and informative, (Especially where
to get the best fantamnas and lomas con potatoes!), if we had any
problems we knew that we could approach either yourself or Kevin
(Which we did..... frequently) and the both of you went out
of your way to help.
-
- You're
quite right about the area of Calasparra and Coto Rinales.. it is
truly beautiful and the people are just lovely, Say "Hola"
to Juan, Pedro and all for us!, we just cant wait to return, trouble
is now that we're back in England, we're still in Spanish time and
everything is manana.

- Dear All,
-
- Thank you
for all your kindnesses and support throughout our viewing of property
and the after sales help given to my husband and I on our recent visit
to Spain. It was such a pleasure.
- When
we arrived in Spain we did not know what to expect and we were met with
a cheery smile and laid back attitude by all of you.
-
The
area we chose to stay in was shown to us by yourself
along with properties and the thing that impressed us both was there
was no hard sell which I had expected. We had come to Spain in
the belief that we would have a Time-share approach making up your
mind there and then, which for many is scary, and we would certainly
not have taken the plunge if this had been the case.
-
- The
Bed and Breakfast was lovely and so laid back we really felt like part
of the family if not at least very good friends.
-
- Our night
out together to a local restaurant was lovely, meeting the local residents
including the Mayor made us feel that leaving our friends and family in
Scotland would be made easier by the fact we felt so at home
and look forward to being a part of the local community.
-
- Kind regards,
- Margaret
& Lewie (Mackay)
